Funny things…
So... class was supposed to start 20 minutes ago, but my professor and all the “technologically inclined” kids are running around frantically trying to figure out how to get the computer to work. The internet is down…. Our building with all that IT stuff got struck by lightening last night. This means that our whole network is down so we can’t even log onto a campus computer… lame. We got a campus wide text about it today. When we signed up for campus texts, it was “for our own safety”… so when I got a text that said Anderson University I was pretty sure the scary gun disease had spread to my school. Nope just a power outage and check your campus voicemail. I never set up my campus voicemail… and none of my roommates did either… so in the back of my mind, there was still a chance that a sniper had come to campus and they just wanted to wait and tell us on our voicemail (really… I do take very seriously the shootings on college campuses and all shootings in general… It’s actually one of my bigger worries…) So I went to the apartment above mine, where my future roommate, Debbie, was of course awake because she’s always awake and I can always hear her clacking around her apartment in heels… (That only brightens my day when with all other people, it would make me mad.) So anyways…. She says that the power in decker is out, classes will resume as normal, and if you had class in decker to go to it and see where it has been relocated. My class is in the School of Theology so there was no reason for me to be stressed out at all… All that worry for nothing. So now back to the class I’m currently sitting in… It is now 25 minutes after 8 (the class is half over) and they have tried using the computer, putting a piece of paper on the overhead… yes an opaque piece of paper on the overhead projector… Then, when my professor tried beginning to write his notes on the chalkboard (heaven forbid) for the third time, another student spoke up about the document projector… whatever that means. The next five minutes were again fun to watch. (which is horrible because I’ve been there… I’m there very Sunday for my stupid computer job…) But, Guess what? The document projector didn’t work… whatever that means. Now my professor is officially writing all of his notes on the chalkboard (heaven forbid)… Looks like we’re talking about the Holy Spirit today…. In my next class we are supposed to watch a movie and learn about a bunch of websites… It is going to be a great day.

Power Outages...

At least he didn't have to struggle with pulling down a screen by hand. Those things are engineered to make teachers look stupid.
