Steamfishmas...

This has been a big couple of weeks for me. I finished half of my junior year, turned 21, came home, flew to Steamboat, had Christmas, and beat all the girls in my family at phase 10 and princess memory repeatedly. It has been a wonderful week here in Steamboat; so much snow! So good to play with my cousin's kid, and be rejuvenated by my sweet grandma. My main Christmas gift was a camera.
It was shipped yesterday to the place we are staying. My sister got one too, so we headed over to fish creek falls and after seriously considering it, we hiked up the now frozen water fall... It was such an adventure... I like to think I'm natural at photography so here were some of the visions...

The Falls from afar...

It wasn't all frozen... so we prayed the snow was packed well. And according to Nicole, it was totally safe.

Merry Christmas!

So for the past two years, instead of having to buy everyone of our friends a christmas gift, my friends at school ad I have done Secret Santas. So we all buy a gift for the person that we drew and then we buy stocking stuffers for all the girls. So yesterday after an Amzing slumber party we woke up and opened our presents and stockings. It was perfect, we got a couple inches of snow and it was absolutely gorgeous. So I was given a home made Apron and a bunch of Christmas recipes! It was so fun. I decided that I would make dinner in my new Apron... so I did! I made stuffed pasta and spaghetti sauce (made also from scratch) and asparagus (which I kept accidentally call Esophagus). Then for desert, I made cookies. It was so fun. I like cooking when I have time and maybe someday I'll get good at it. My Birthday is in Three Days and I have a Million things to do in my last few days as a twenty year old... Soon enough I'll be a junior and a half!

The Christmas Post

The Christmas Post presented by Ovid Community Church has been receiving some RAVE reviews so I thought it was high time for me to check out this pageant of Christmas. Boy was I in for a surpise, not only was there singing, acting, and dancing, but there was an inspirational message that would warm and challenge the hearts of everyone in the room. I went with a good friend of mine who used to be on the inside of this place so it was interesting to hear him talk about the parts that he would have played. We also got a special tour of the set and got to take a picture in one of the character's news stand! It was a fabulous performance given by all and it was fun to see my friend rob and his family while getting in the Christmas Spirit together.

In other news.... It's the week before finals. I haven't been this stressed out in a while. It should be fun.
Also, my birthday is in 9 days!

Christmas Time Is Here!

So it's officially the season of Advent... I love it. I'm reading the Divine Hours for advent and it is so fun to add Jesus into the warm and fuzzies mix. So.... It's been a while since I've posted on this thing, so I thought I would give a little visual presentation to show you how I got to where I am today...

Sidney and I made the turkey for Alacritas... It was a fabulous undertaking!

We put up our Christmas Tree Before thanksgiving Break so that we could come back to Christmas time.

We each got stockings with our first initial on them. It spells LASH (Leah, Ashley, Sidney, Haley)

Nate and I got matching hats so that we wouldn't freeze at the sad Kansas game. We still froze and Kansas lost. It was a sad day.

Notice the Drunk Mizzou fan on the other side of my mom...

This is the drunky guy that was kicked out of the game. It took him the whole first half to walk down the steps.

However, at the end of the day, I get to curl up in my amazing flannel sheets used only on bad days and at Christmas time....
